After finally getting a trim from Yuya Takahashi at the Sally Hershberger Los Angeles salon, my hair feels thicker and healthier. All those scraggly longer layers (from my self-split end trimming) are gone and while my hair is shorter than its been in years, my friend Tania said it’s age-appropriate and more glamorous. And after all, with my Appearex biotin supplements, my long hair will grow back in no time, right?
Is it just me or have some nail polish companies been watering down their formulas lately? I’ve just noticed that when I’ve restocked some of my favorite shades, it’s taking me more coats to reach the same level of opacity. And we all know that extra coats are manicure kryptonite, adding up to a thick manicure and putting you at risk for more smudges and chips, faster. Went to IKEA this past weekend with the boyfriend (always a good test of relationship solidity) on the hunt for floating shelves for his new place. The IKEA shelves are boring, functional, but cheap enough that they’re hard to pass up. Then I came across this photo from Hungarian design blog HazíManó. How awesome is this vintage suitcase shelving? What an innovative recycling idea! If only they had these at IKEA.
When Barneys New York first announced that it was partnering with Disney for holiday this year, I was seriously skeptical. But they just revealed the images and instead of just fashionizing Mickey and Minnie (which wouldn’t inspire me to shop), Disney’s created cartoon versions of the fashion industry’s favorite icons such as Anna Della Russo, Daphne Guinness, Alber Elbaz (above—so cute!), and Pat McGrath.
