Game On: Lacoste

Screen Shot 2016-02-22 at 8.45.59 AMHaving worn a school uniform up until college, I’m very familiar with the status of a little green alligator logo (a solid notch above Polo’s man on horseback). But it was only while researching this piece for Marie Claire that I learned that Lacoste’s iconic mascot is actually a crocodile, not an alligator (which of course led me on a procrastination detour to Google the difference). I also learned that René Lacoste 1) won the French Open and 2) designed both the collared shirts now known as “polo shirts” and the iconic pleated tennis skirt. For more on the multi-talented René Lacoste and the brand’s new fragrances (inspired by the pleated tennis skirt), please check out my story in the March issue of Marie Claire: March 2016 Lacoste
